
Fitness Programs
The BASC offers fitness classes every day of the week, so you can join your friends and neighbors to stay active and fit in our friendly atmosphere!​​

Fitness & Work Out Room
The BASC has an fitness room with a nice selection of fitness equipment for strength training and aerobic conditioning, available for use during our business hours.

Chair Fitness
Chair Fitness classes are done either sitting or standing beside a chair for balance. Fitness classes are on Mondays at 10:00 am, Wednesdays at 10:15 am, and Fridays at 10:00 am.

Qigong/Taiji
Qigong is excellent for the beginner, and can assist with postural and alignment corrections, flexibility, balance, and mobility, as well as contributing a noticeable rise in energy levels. The class moves toward practicing Taiji, popularly known as Tai Chi, which is widely recognized for its magnificent health benefits and low impact exercise. The gradual transitions of stances in the form create internal strength, and through mindful movement the student learns breath control and meditation techniques that allow them to clear their thoughts. You may stand or sit in a chair for this program.

Osteo Fit
Osteo Fit will help strengthen the body, improve and strengthen muscles and also help with balance and stability. This class incorporates weights, bands, yoga balls and of course a chair for stability. Stronger bodies equal healthy bodies. Osteo Fit is on Tuesdays at 10:15 am.

Chair Yoga
Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support. Chair Yoga is offered on Thursdays at 11:00 am.

Fitness is Fun!

Powerbeats
(Cardio Drumming)
This weekly fitness class is performed to music, beating out the rhythm on yoga balls using drumsticks, and provides an excellent upper body workout. Powerbeats is on Fridays at 9:00 am and on Tuesday evenings at 5:30 pm.

Walk Day
Once a month between April and October, patrons can join in Walk Day and enjoy walking local cities, along the St. Joe River, University of Notre Dame, and many other locations.
